Building a career, not just a job: Fostering growth in customer support
George Dilthey, Head of Customer Support at Clay, shares his approach to something the industry doesn't talk about enough: how to actually build lasting careers inside support teams, rather than treating the role as a stepping stone out of it. Support is too often seen as a launchpad to "better" roles elsewhere in the business. George makes the case for a different model, where growth happens within support itself, and shares how he's put that into practice at Clay. This keynote covers: - Creating clear progression paths that don't require leaving support to advance - What meaningful career development looks like day-to-day, not just on paper - Building a team culture where staying in support is a choice, not a compromise - Practical steps leaders can take to invest in their people without a big budget or headcount
